Mediæval Bæbes - The Rose

The Mediæval Bæbes are an English ensemble of female musicians founded by Miranda Sex Garden member Katharine Blake in the 1990s, featuring some of her MSG cohorts as well as other friends who share her love of medieval music. The lineup often rotates from album to album, and ranges from 6 to 12 members. The Rose is the fourth album by British vocal group Mediaeval Baebes.

Kate Price is an American multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and vocalist, who specialises in fusing Celtic, New Age and ethnic music using instruments from many cultures in the world.
'The Time Between' released in 1993 is Kate's fifth album, although her previous releases were on small independant labels and don't seem to be available.
This album has a definite medieval flavour to it and comes HIGHLY recommended.

Blake

Blake are a quartet of classically trained British singers, and former choristers, who met on Facebook in 2007.
Comprising of members Dominic Tighe, Jules Knight, Oliver Baines and Stephen Bowman, Blake won 2008's Classical BRITS.
Blake's self titled debut album released in November 2007 contains classical covers of many well known songs, such as 'I'll Make Love To You', which was a number one single for Boys II Men in 1994, as well as Jeff Buckley's ' Hallelujah', and 'All For Love', from the 1993 movie 'The Three Musketeers', made famous by Bryan Adams, Rod Stewart, and Sting.

Philip Riley & Jayne Elleson - The Blessing Tree

'The Blessing Tree' released in 1998 is a collaboration album between Philip Riley and Jayne Elleson. This is their second album, their first being 'Celtic Visions And Voices', released in 1994.
Philip Riley is an English musician, composer and producer, whilst Jayne Elleson is a New Zealand born vocalist and self taught pianist. The album is a unique fusion of mostly Celtic themed music, with a dusting of a classical feel in places, topped with Jayne Elleson's etherial vocal, which has a similarity to Enya or Moya Brennan, making it a truly magical auditary experience. If you like Enya, Loreena McKennitt, Moya Brennan or Clannad I'm sure you'll like this album...it comes to you HIGHLY recommended.

Karen Matheson - The Dreaming Sea

Karen Matheson is a tradional Scottish singer, probably best known as the lead singer with Celtic band Capercaillie, Karen sings in both Scottish Gaelic and English. Karen made a cameo appearance in the 1995 movie Rob Roy singing the song 'Ailein duinn'.

Mae McKenna - Shore To Shore

Mae McKenna is a traditional Scottish singer-songwriter, she is also a respected vocal arranger and vocal coach. Mae worked for the SAW studios, and has arranged and sung on numerous top singles, and has worked with such artists as Sting, Donna Summer, Kylie Minogue, Westlife, Ronan Keating and Michael Jackson, she has also worked with classical singers Dame Kiri Te Kanawa and Katherine Jenkins. As a vocal coach Mae has worked on the top box office films such as the Harry Potter Movies and Nanny McPhee.
'Shore To Shore' released in 1999 fuses traditional Celtic music with other roots influences such as bluegrass, it comprises of both traditional songs, and also original material either written or co-written bt Mae, she also produced the album herself.

Mario Frangoulis - Sometimes I Dream

Mario Frangoulis is Greek classical singer, who was born in Zimbabwe, but bought up in Athens by an aunt and uncle. Mario recieved classical vocal training in Greece, Italy and London, and has also had some classical violin training.
'Sometimes I Dream' released in September 2002 features a cover of 'Nights In White Satin', a single for the band The Moody Blues in 1967, the song was written by Justin Haywood who was the bands lead singer, when he was ninteen, Justin joins Mario on his version. German singer Sarah Connor also joins Mario on the track 'Naturaleza Muerta'.
Mario isn't as well known as some other similar classical singers, but if you like Josh Groban, Alessandro Safina or Vittorio, I'm sure you'll like Mario too...he comes recommended.
